Course Curriculum

SSC/Q8406 · NSQF Level 4 · Assessment: Minimum 70% per technical NOS module.

Drone types: multirotor (quadcopter, hexacopter), fixed-wing, VTOL; applications across sectors
Hardware: frame, motors (brushless DC), ESC, flight controller, battery (LiPo), propellers
Sensor suite: GPS/GNSS, barometer, accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, optical flow
Payload types: cameras (RGB, thermal, multispectral), LiDAR, sprayers

Flight control firmware: ArduPilot, PX4, DJI flight control system
Mission Planner: interface, parameter configuration, sensor calibration
QGroundControl: vehicle setup, firmware flashing, pre-flight calibration
PID tuning concepts: roll, pitch, yaw; auto-tuning procedures
Failsafe configuration: RTL (Return to Launch), GPS failsafe, battery failsafe

Waypoint mission creation: altitude, speed, camera trigger, survey grids
Survey mission planning: terrain following, overlap calculation, GSD (Ground Sampling Distance)
Geofencing: setting no-fly zones and altitude limits; mission execution and telemetry monitoring

Firmware update procedures: stable vs development releases; update risks and rollback
Configuring sensors and payloads: gimbal calibration, camera settings, payload integration
Data capture: photo/video settings for mapping and inspection applications
Log analysis: MAVLink logs; troubleshooting using QGroundControl/Mission Planner
